An Open Door
When I checked into my room at the Empire Hotel I immediately, and naturally, rushed to my window to find a beautiful view of Lincoln Center, along with a door on its rooftop that had been left open.
I come to my room from shows, from lunch, from dinners and I anxiously rush to my window to see if someone has closed this random door. After 7 days it remains open. It’s odd to me. Why doesn’t someone close it? Where does this door lead to? Why is it open? Why am I so fascinated by it?
In a weird way, it gives me a strange sense of hope. It leaves me with a feeling that no matter what you are seeking in life, if you look hard enough, you will...
