The Lake Growing up, my family owned a small plot of lake property in an RV park called Burnt Birch at Pigeon Lake, Alberta, located roughly 45 minutes south west of Edmonton. We owned a trailer from 1975 with a kitschy plaid interior. My friends and I spent a lot of time out here when we were young; I have a million fond memories, from my first kiss (!) at 13 on a dock on the Canada Day long weekend, baseball, capture the flag, the beach, to ice fishing in the winter time. I am a big city girl through and through, but love being to escape to the country from time to time to get away from the congested business of urban life. My parents sold our land back when I was 18, but...
