I’ve been wanting to recreate this pin , which I think is a great way to dress down an otherwise too dressy or twee dress, but when I finally did, I’m not happy with the result at all. My chambray shirt is too boxy and my dress is kind of in between – it is not fitted enough to work with the loose shirt, and it is not loose enough for the belt to add definition either. So the outfit ended up all bulky and weird. The proportion looks wrong too – the shirt is too long for my long torso. Maybe I should have knotted the shirt instead of belting it, I never have much luck with belting outer layers anyway. Or better yet, I should’ve worn...
