A Modern Take On 1950s Style | Blue Pleated Skirt & Vintage Sunglasses
I love many retro styles, and often buy vintage pieces (especially dresses), but the 1950s is one of the easiest retro styles to emulate without the need for actual vintage pieces. This was one of those outfits that ended up being a little bit 1940s/50s - which was not my intention - but I went with it in the end and ended up with a lovely feminine, comfy outfit just right for a day running errands (and twirling ;) I'm still loving all the pleated skirts around at the moment [ will retailers please stop making them in every colour under the sun?!! ], so I wore my new blue pleated skirt from Asos with an old favourite floral shirt.
