Overburdening

I taught how to find the axis of symmetry and vertex algebraically, which is something easier for my students to digest because its all mechanical. We've been graphing for two days and they're pretty good at identifying the axis of symmetry and vertex graphically. It was definitely a good change of pace in terms of teaching. I would hate to imagine bad lesson after bad lesson because then the kids would get discouraged. I always try to cut the concepts up so that the kids can handle them, always with an eye on not overburdening...
