Doing It Like Janis Did If I had to choose one major style influence that has impacted own personal style preferences, then I think I've just gotta go with Janis Joplin all the way. She was the true queen of rock and roll. Woman's got lungs for days with the perfect raspy quality that not even the most folksy of singer/songwriters have a hard time copying. Janis was a wild child, a little rough around the edges and a rebel through and through. All this showed through her big smile and the clothes on her back. All over lace. Wide bell sleeves.
