From blog 14 Shades Of Grey
Roses In A Vase
I almost thought I would have to stop the Take One, Pass It On challenge for another round of Style Imitating Art, but when I looked at the inspiration painting, “Yellow Roses in a Vase” by Gustave Caillebotte, I saw that it has a bit of greyish blue in it that my chambray shirt can mimic. So here’s my interpretation of it. The skirt is a lucky find too; it was my mom’s, and I was just thinking I’d wear it before it gets too warm for a corduroy pencil skirt, but then it just happens to work pretty well for the painting (even though those are pink roses and not yellow.)
