SIA Inspiration: Gustave Caillebotte
Hope you guys had a great weekend/did not get too drunk on St. Patrick’s! For this week’s SIA, Jess picked “Yellow Roses in a Vase” (Roses jaunes dans un vase) by Gustave Caillebotte :
Two things: first, I was going to use one of Caillebotte’s paintings for SIA but eventually decided not to because I wanted to branch out from Impressionism (though Caillebotte’s style is more realistic than most Impressionists). So I’m super excited that Jess picked this. Great minds think alike, right?
Second, those look more like white roses than yellow to me, but if you say so, Monsieur Caillebotte.
