Straighten Up
*Boots, Similar Skirt*Growing up, I always wanted straight hair. All my friends, favorite celebrities, and Barbie dolls had silky locks that I envied. Middle school boys found red, curly hair about as attractive as freckles - which is to say, I didn't go on my first date until I was 17. My mom would straighten my hair with a clothes iron from time to time. I'd lay my head on the ironing board and hold my ears down while smoke rose from my head.
