The morning began with a makeshift mimosa. We used white wine & club soda instead of bubbly champagne and it was a nice way to celebrate life. I've always considered the holidays a time made for eating good food and looking into the eyes of loved ones. My dad doesn't have to rise early for work, our dining room table becomes a puzzle, the liquor cabinet stays open and everyone's a little more willing to bite their tongues and let things be.
