When my father was a little boy, he lived with his five other siblings and parents in a sturdy brick house in Pleasant Ridge Michigan. My grandfather bought a little chunk of land with his brother, 40 acres of land in Silverwood Michigan we came to refer to as “The Farm” while growing up, despite the fact that it was not an actual farm. My Father and aunts and uncles took trips to The Farm on a regular basis and busied themselves by goofing around as kids do while my Grandmother looked in on them. On one such occasion, my father (the youngest for a time until my aunt Karen came into the picture), was playing outdoors by a giant wagon wheel with my uncle Graham...
