The moon is round like a banjo, and if I'm quiet enough, I can hear cars whistling in a country mile. The ground is dry, like the seat on a summer bus, and all thoughts of frost dissolve into the air. It's the third of January, and my feet have been kissing sidewalks without the need for mittens or planes. To put it in a nutshell: The world is wearing a glossy halo, and winter's weather feels more like spring. As the colored pine tree continues to make camp in our living room, I am reminded of the Christmas air, and the jubilant days spent in December.
