Owls On A Leaf
Here’s my outfit for this week’s SIA, inspired by Laura Dalla Vecchia’s embroideries of birds on dry leaves. Sadly, I don’t have anything embroidered with birds on it (something I must rectify as soon as possible), but I do have plenty of bird brooches. After some deliberation, I decided on this fabric owl brooch, because they have a rustic quality that reminds me of the embroideries, and they’re perching on a branch, like a lot of the birds in Vecchia’s works. And of course, she’s done a couple of pieces featuring owls too, so it’s perfect. For the rest of the outfit, I stick to a brown color scheme for the dry...
