On The Way
Here’s my outfit for this week’s SIA, inspired by Hao Ping’s “ On the Way “. I’m kind of kicking myself a bit because the area I visited in Yunnan (Dali City and Lijiang) is best known for a unique type of batik fabric, which would have been perfect for this painting, but while I was there I didn’t buy any because a) they’re kind of expensive and b) I don’t think they would fit my style. So I had to make do with what I already have. At least I’m happy with this brooch, which reflects not only the colors in the painting but the shapes of the yak’s head and his bell as well!
