Young Betsy Ross
For this week’s SIA, inspired by Paul Stahr’s 1927 “Young Betsy Ross” cover for The Elks magazine, I knew I’d wear this skirt – I mean, I don’t call it my “Stars and Stripes” skirt for nothing, even though there is no star on it. For the top though, I wasn’t sure what to wear. I thought about something yellow, to mimic Betsy’s dress, but I have no yellow top suitable for summer. Then when we had a bit of cooler temperature due to heavy rain, I thought, to Hell with it, and brought out my yellow cardigan. I was still dying in it while I took these photos (it may be cool, but certainly not cool enough...
