I've not worn wide leg trousers since I lived in Tunbridge Wells circa 2004 - 2006 and worked at a psychometric testing company. My commute to work was a brisk 5 minute walk and I vividly remember striding home one day down Upper Grosvenor Road, on a phone call with my friend Lauren who would have been living in Huddersfield at the time. The next thing I knew, I was flat on my face on the pavement and my phone was miles down the road. I'd caught the pointy toe of my heeled boots in the hem of the opposite leg and stacked it.
