I’ve been reading quite a lot of books about Russia and set in Russia lately, so that may have influenced this outfit a bit. This skirt has always reminded me of Slavic embroideries, and although I’ve never thought to pair this shirt with a skirt before, the green and red color combo is very Slavic as well (and not Christmas-y in the slightest!) I stuck with the embroidery theme and added an embroidered button as my brooch, and even my clogs are a nod to the traditional bast shoes of the Slav peasants.
