Thinking of You
We all know the sincere message of “Thinking of You.”
It’s sent when we feel for, or empathize, with another’s suffering. But, when I get that phrase sent to me, there is that small part of my dark, maladapted brain that thinks, “What do you mean? Do mean you care? Or do you mean you’re thinking of me while you dangle a voodoo doll over a hot flame and stab it multiple times?” Because really it’s a vague phrase and we assume the kind and caring….but next time someone says that, check for any stabbing pains.
