Bonjour! We had a splendid half-term week in France and were really lucky with the weather; the first three days dawned very cold and frosty but turned out sunny and a delightfully warm 12-13 degrees in the afternoons. In February! The house had been empty since New Year so it was freezing when we arrived, had to scurry around and switch on all the electric radiators and pushed all the thermostats up to full. Dad got the fire going at 9:30am Monday morning, an hour after we arrived from the overnight ferry to Caen-Ouistreham. It was good to spend so much time outside in the sunshine all week.
