Versailles – ed
Versailles, the former hunting lodge turned gilded Palace. A guided tour that told us about the history of each room and the paintings within.
How one ceiling was painted in sections, and the wallpapered on. How, the queen gave birth with ten people watching, and Louis woke each and every morning to fifty people waiting to greet him. I know, how much I like my quiet time, and I would not want to sacrifice that – I guess it’s the modern equivalent to being a celebrity these days.
Next up, the Versailles gardens.
