Before the Heatwave Broke (Summer Style)
The "extreme heat" broke on Tuesday night but not before the UK recorded its highest ever temperature; 40.3C in Coningsby, Lincolnshire. Bananas. Down south, Hampshire was just outside of the red alert and only reached about 37-38 degrees before the rain cooled things off overnight. I snuck out at 7:45pm for a 4 mile run after dashing inside when the rain started but that lasted about five minutes. By the time I'd gotten changed and headed out, it was still really hot and sticky but with a warm breeze.
