The Popularity of Faux Fabrics in Fashion
The “faux” word has become pretty familiar and fairly popular lately. Faux fabrics are used not only in fashion but in decor and formerly leather goods like handbags and wallets.
There are many expressions for these fabrics, including, vegan leather, leatherette, pleather, and so on. The leather-like fabrics available now have come a long way from the first versions of “pleather.” Remember those? I believe I had a mini-skirt in pleather that felt plasticky and even cracked over time.
