Renfest!
My favorite part of summer is always at the very end, because that is when the Michigan Renascence Festival takes place. Knights, jousting, washing well wenches, Dead Bob, Pirates, fairies, Shrek, and Doctor Who….what those have to do with the renfest is beyond me. However, the renfest is a haven for dorks of all kind, so the kid dressed as Harry Potter is welcome just as much as the guy doing some David Bowie-Labyrinth thing with orbs. It is the place to feast on giant turkey legs, and soup in a bread-bowl, chug cider, and beer! Yell “HUZZAH!!” For almost no apparent reason! Gawk at the shirtless guys and the women in corsets, heckle the performers, and sing...
