Solitary Refinement
I went to a "party" this weekend. I have to use the quotes because it's such a relative term. As a grown-up parties are a lot different than when I was a kid or a teen, or even when I was at university. This "party" was very causal and a lot of fun and not really a big deal, except it's me and it was a group of strangers and have social anxiety to spare, so it's a pretty big deal. I'm an introvert by nature and by choice. What I mean by that is that while we cannot control the disposition with which we are born, we absolutely control the extent to which we allow that disposition and its tendencies to control our lives.
