Self Portrait: Lunar New Year

Happy Lunar New Year! I remember how disappointed I was last year when the Lunar New Year parade was cancelled in Chinatown; before our lives fully changed. This year it feels really important to me to not let go of certain traditions that my sister and I were raised with thanks to our Chinese mom. I have very vivid memories of Chinatown as a child during the parade, dressed in not brand new clothing, but our best dresses, and I was always very frightened of yet intrigued by the dragons doing the Dragon Dance.
