When I bought this dress by Ralph Lauren, I thought it was a maxi. It's been waiting patiently in my closet all summer waiting for the month when its color would be appropriate. Imagine my surprise, when it only came to mid-calf. While I like this length (and the dress I will wear to our upcoming family wedding will be tea length), a hem that hits in mid-calf makes my calves look bigger than they actually are. I first styled this with the brown belt and sandals below, and then after studying the thumbnails, decided it needed a contrasting color. Hence, the red belt and red sandals by Clarke. All thrifted.
This would be perfectly appropriate for our semester...
