Hello, little black smocked dress! I’m in love with this puffy sleeve + square neckline combination. It’s very 90s, for one, and it’s also really flattering. You get a nice swathe of chest without cleavage (time and place– sometimes you’re just not in the mood for major cleave and that’s fine ). It plays up the collarbones– a very underrated feature, I believe.
The smocking detail is fun and creates a nice shape without being too constrictive. I love the way it contrasts against the romance of those sleeves and the floaty factor of the skirt. Oh , and ...
