God Went To Beauty School by Cynthia Rylant is a short but stellar book of poetry that images, what He might do if He were one of us (kinda like that old Joan Osborne song.) Some of my favorites image that God gets on a boat, God goes rollerblading, God makes spaghetti, God gets a dog, and God writes a fan letter. To be totally honest, I started reading this book while I was in Alaska a month ago. My friend Sara found it in that awesome used bookstore and read me a page. I was hooked.
