This was my 4th of July outfit. Pretty patriotic, right? Yeah, I’m not a big flag waver. I consider myself lucky to be an American, but not proud . The whole national pride thing has never made sense to me. I feel like pride requires some kind of effort, and it took zero effort for me to be American. I’m not proud of having blue eyes, so why be proud of where I happened to be born? The people who should be proud of being American are the ones that got off their asses and had the courage to leave their homes to come here. Welcome. I’m proud of you .
