I've grown to love this high-waist style because it just works for me. I cut the size 14 at the waist grading to a 16 at the hip. My fabric is Olive Medium Weight 100% Linen from Mood Fabrics.com. Even though the instructions did not recommend, I used interfacing in the waist. I interfaced the side front, front (along with the zipper area) and the back.
