Button Me Up Victorian
Dear Dress Lovers, I was totally inspired to sew after pulling out one of my vintage mags and seeing this gorgeous old Woolworth's ad. Would you just look at those fancy old buttons!! Whoever has those. Lucky. Anyway, it sent me on a sewing spree to finish up a skirt I had started eons ago with some fabric from The Scrap Exchange (the coolest place ever). A recent stash of thrifted lace would be just the ticket, with some vintage buttons, of course. I love Victorian things, but I also like the sometimes tattered punky look of more modern fashion; I am smitten with steampunk. I wanted this skirt to be an understated mix.
