I really enjoyed this "My Shopping Philosophy (and Why It Sticks)" article by Claire Beermann on ManRepeller.com She goes into detail about the amazing feeling about wearing something new, and the weird feelings about being caught up in the fashion cycle of consumption. Even goes into some of the science behind these "must have/wear now" feelings" Worth a read for sure, especially for fellow shopaholics...
