Won't You Be My Neighbor?
Many years ago, my youngest daughter had a routine of coming straight home from school, grabbing an afghan (that I didn't dare wash) and plopping down in front of the television to watch Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. I don't quite understand, even today, her fascination with his calm demeanor, and the puppets, and the piano. Recently I watched the first of nine videos he made for historical purposes and was enchanted to learn that his mother knitted the variety of sweaters seen on his PBS program. He also spoke of using the piano to articulate his feelings. The youngest daughter taught herself to play piano--well enough, that she was gifted this upright DuoTone player...
