Jersey Junction One of my favorite ice cream shops in town is Jersey Junction. It's located in East Grand Rapids, in the center of Gaslight Village. It was opened in 1963 by Doris VanAllsburg. This place has so much history behind it. I love it. Even the name. The word "Jersey" came from Doris' father, who told her that Jersey cows produced the best milk and therefore the best ice cream. The word "Junction" means a place where roads come together. So, Jersey Junction means a place for everyone to come together and enjoy the best ice cream in town. Neat, right?
