I recently rewatched When Harry Met Sally on a flight and it got me thinking about all of the New York-based movies that I loved growing up, that I’ve yet to rewatch since moving here myself. Perhaps it’s the small girl from Reno in me, but I still get giddy when I see the Washington Square arch come into view when Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan first arrive in NYC from Chicago. Or when Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” blares to the scenes of New York waking up as Woody Allen’s narration starts in the opening scenes of Manhattan. Or yes, even seeing the Ghostbuster’s TriBeca-based fire station office gets me humming,...
