a day trip to the tulip festival
spring has officially sprung in the pacific northwest! the sun has made a few (albeit brief) appearances, and the temperatures are warming ever-so-slightly. i can walk comfortably in the sunshine sans jacket, though one is still required during my early morning walk to the office. a few weekends ago, i packed up my bag (or more accurately, numerous bags) to embark on a day trip to the skagit valley tulip festival. if you aren't from washington, you have likely seen photos from our annual tulip festival; it is stunning! the tulips are in bloom early spring, and the fields are a mere hour+ drive north of the city. it is well worth the trip. ...
