Outfit: Movie Night at the Strand
I'm always going on about my love of old movies, but did I ever mention I love old movie theaters too? An old theater with classic red velvet curtains and old-fashioned marquee out front sort of begs for you to dress up and bring some of the ceremony back to a movie night. One of my favorite vintage photographs is from the first 3-D movie ; the men are wearing suits and ties, the women look like movie stars with their perfectly coiffed hair. Naturally I do go to the movies in jeans sometimes, but whenever I do take the time to put together a special going-out outfit there's so much added ceremony and fun to the night (and what could be more fitting than a popcorn...
