I had my daughter at a fairly young age, just a few years after we were married. My doctor encouraged us to try for a baby after I had a cervical cancer scare, even though we had planned on waiting a couple more years. It was early on in our marriage & we didn't have a clue what we were doing...but if I was given the chance to go back, I wouldn't change a single thing. She instantly injected an infectious joy into our lives that we didn't know we were missing. I'm so thankful for the close bond that we share and for the way we've been able to maintain regular & open communication as she goes through adolescence - I still can't believe she'll be 13...
