Sometimes I see my Miami friends talk about "Sunday Family Days" I get a little jealous. As most Venezuelan families, we are as spread out as we can be (not by choice...definitely not by choice). I've been living away from home for 10 years- and nowadays my parents, my brothers, and I are spread out within 4 countries (and that's not counting that my in-laws live in Puerto Rico). A couple of years ago, my dad made us promise that we would try to see each other at least once a year. This has not been easy either...work gets in the way, expensive tickets get it in the way, life gets in the way..... but I believe we should always be there for the big moments. ...
