Gyeongbokgung Palace 경복궁 in Seoul, Korea The Gyeongbokgung Palace ("Palace Greatly Blessed by Heaven" / 경복궁) is a beautiful palace in Seoul, South Korea, referred to as the Northern Palace, which dates all the way back to 1395 as the main palace of the Joseon Dynasty. Although the grounds were destroyed by fire during the Imjin War (Japanese Invasions, 1592-1598) the buildings and surrounding area were restored back to their magnificence during the reign of King Gojong (1852-1919). I experienced such a big part of Korean culture and absolutely loved the splendor of the palace's buildings, vast gardens and sprawling grounds.
