Juxtaposing couture thoughts and daily wear
(photos by Jacob Khrist) I came across a most absurd poll this morning courtesy of British Vogue. The million dollar question read as follows: 'Has Raf Simons exceeded your Dior expectations - who do you prefer in the Dior hotseat?' Now, correct me if I am wrong, but Mr Simons took over the position about - erm- 5 minutes ago!? Sure couture counts for something. Dior couture even more so. But when a genial craftsman sets out to redefine the very rules of 'Haute Couture' (opening the show of a fashion house known for its decadent ball gowns with an all-black tuxedo - inspired by the famous bar jacket - was hardly a random act of madness) surely it's worth listening to...
