OOTD 7.1.2012 :: Picnic and Lady Liberty
This past weekend, my guy and I got a head start on the Independence Day festivities with a picnic in Battery Park. The park is truly one of Manhattan’s hidden gems. Natives mostly think of it as the tourist destination where you get on the Statue of Liberty ferries. But the last few years have seen special attention given to the park. The Battery Park Conservancy has planted a community garden and created acres of seasonal plantings. So right now the park is positively in bloom. Flowers, grasses, trees, and acres of green grass remind me more of a forest than the city. There are also honeybees, butterflies, and even a resident turkey. You never entirely lose...
