How I Define Being Thrifty
I shook my delicate pale pink and blue piggy bank out and sighed at the meager pile of coins that pinged one by one onto the table in front of me, an 8-year-old desperate for an American Girl doll.
“At this rate, I’ll be able to buy the doll when I’m 20,” I dejectedly told my Mom.
“This doll is something you are going to buy if it’s what you really want. You’ll appreciate it so much more if you save for it!” she replied.
And save I did.
I held onto every coin and each dollar for months, counting out what I had saved and counting down the days until Kirsten would finally be mine.
