Pattern Mixing 101: Flowers and Dots
In my first Pattern Mixing 101 post earlier this week, I showed off a look with stripes and leopard. Today, I'm sharing another tried-and-true way to pattern mix, floral + polka dots! I've actually seen several mixed-media pieces (especially scarves) that incorporate floral and polka dot patterns together, so here I did that, but with two separate pieces instead. I used my absolute FAVORITE floral scarf and then paired it with a black-and-white polka dot tank I found at a thrift store. Like I mentioned in Monday's post, the stripes + leopard pattern worked because the "big" striped pattern provided contrast with the "small" leopard print in the belt and flats. The...
