Pretty in Paisley
Y'ALL. I JUST MADE A DRESS. Like, I've sewn clothing before (like my DIY Pleated Mini ,) but that's pretty straightforward--sew a straight line, sew another straight line, and put in some elastic. This dress had pleats. And darts. And sleeves. Sleeves, people! It was kind of terrifying making a garment where so much could go wrong. But luckily, I had a really detailed and simple tutorial from Merrick's Art as my guide! The tutorial gives you the basic pattern, but it's up to you to make it fit you. So, before I cut into my nice fabric (it's from the Waverly collection at Walmart, )I made a dummy with scrap fabric to make sure I got all the measurements right. As...
