top (uo), blazer (uo), skirt (modcloth), shoes (topshop), lipstick (NARS - schiap) I've been having a lot of complex feelings about fashion and style and the things that go into those worlds, which has put a cap on my blogging for a few days -- week --- more than a week maybe? I'll start off by saying this: it did not take more than a few days in a linguistics class before I learned that taking a prescriptive approach to language, and more specifically syntax, is not only a futile, but limiting endeavor [i.e. attempting to impose rules of correct usage on the users of a language].
