Plaid Potential I grew up in a house where plaid was my mom's main decorating theme. Checkered fabric hung from our curtain rods, a tartan tablecloth was draped over our dining room table and, believe it or not, we even had a plaid-upholstered couch. Not only did she decorate with it, but most of the clothes she bought for me as a child were plaid.
