This weekend I am off to the Aldeburgh Music Festival in Suffolk. When many of my blogging friends are jetting off to pop, rock and the such-like music festivals, I am off to a 'Classical' music festival. I hate using the word classical as it is a misnomer since Classical music is a specific period (1780-1820 FYI) but since it is the word that denotes 'Western art music' or 'non-pop' I will use it! We are going to watch a variety of music including a World-fusion concert involving a German Ooompah band, African Kora, a poet and others at the Pumphouse and then tomorrow, watching a concert of music inspired by Bali including Benjamin Britten's only full length...
