Most of my friends assume I have a gigantic closet and are somewhat disappointed when they see it. I share a standard-sized closet with my husband. I get 2 dresser drawers. Now, I swap things out seasonally so I'm not trying to claim that I don't have a lot of clothing it just doesn't seem to be nearly the quantity that people expect. I think it's because I can buy a random sweater at the thrift store and find a belt that matches it in my closet. I don't have a ton but there's a large variety!
